Overview

The Portugal Holiday Visa for students entitles students of primary & secondary schools to travel to Portugal for fun & leisure. The holder of this Visa will be able to reside in Portugal & travel across other Schengen member states for a maximum of 90 days (3 months) in 6 months period.

Visa Documentation

Portugal Visa Online applicants should provide mandate documents to ensure smooth & hassle-free Visa acquisition from the Embassy.

The list of necessary documents that student applicants need to present at the Embassy is mentioned below:

  1. A Valid Passport

    The applicant of Portugal visa online is required to present original passport & colored copy of the passport page that contains personal details & photo of the applicant. The passport should be issued to the applicant in last 10 years & valid for a minimum of 3 months from the date of departure from Portugal. Please note that the passport should contain at least 2 blank visa pages.

    The applicant should present old passports & previous Visas, if any.

  2. Recent colored Photographs

    The Portugal Holiday Visa Applicant is required to attach 2 recent colored passport-size photographs to the Portugal Visa Application form. The photos should be clear, sharply focused, clicked on a white background & feature applicant’s complete face. The photographs should not be older than 3 months.

  3. Portugal Visa Application Form

    An accurately filled Portugal Visa Application form is the vital part of Portugal Visa Application process. The prospective applicant of Visa for Portugal is required to fill all the 37 columns of the visa application with due care. The declaration column/section of the form is to be filled by the parents/guardian of the applicant along with the signatures at the mandate fields. It should be noted that any error, inaccurate or conflicting information can render the Visa Application invalid.

  4. Valid UK Residence Permit

    The residents of UK that hold British Residence Permit must obtain a Visa to Portugal before embarking on a journey to Portugal. The UK residence Permit (either stamped in the passport or in the form of a bio-metric card) should be presented at the Portugal Consulate. Please note that UK residence permit should hold the requisite validity of 3 months (90 days) from the scheduled date of return from Portugal.

  5. Travel Itinerary

    The Applicant’s travel itinerary should cover the entire duration of stay in Portugal & other Schengen countries. The accommodation details along with the dates of travel should be clearly defined-

    • Educational Documents

      The applicant of Portugal Holiday Visa for students is required to present original copy of letter from the British School, College or University. This official letter should cover applicant’s details such as name, type of course undertaken, attendance record & holiday dates. It should be noted that the letter should not be older than 3 months from the date of Portugal Visa Application.

  6. Round-trip Reservation documents

    The applicant needs to produce & present reserved return travel tickets (if traveling by flight, ferry or bus) & all the other travel documents at the Portugal Consulate on the appointment date. The tickets should bear applicant’s name & correct dates of travel to & fro Portugal.

  7. Travel Insurance

    The original document or a copy of the travel insurance certificate should be presented at the Embassy. The insurance certificate should be-

    • Valid for all the Schengen Countries
    • Valid for DROM/CTOM as per your itinerary.

    The travel insurance certificate should cover a minimum coverage of at least 30,000 EUR (it should include medical expenses & repatriation costs).

    It should cover applicant’s entire stay in the Schengen Zone.

  8. Proof of Accommodation

    The applicant should produce & present rental agreement or confirmed hotel bookings along with the Portugal Visa Application form. The accommodation travel documents should bear applicant’s details like name, contact details, hotel address, intended dates of stay in Portugal or other Schengen members.

    If a resident of Portugal (relative/family member) is ready to accommodate the applicant, then an original “Attestation Accursed” should be presented at the Consulate. This letter should cover applicant’s entire stay in Portugal (or other Schengen countries).

    The letter should be issued by any Police Station or Town Hall of Portugal & not written by the host. Hand-written letters will not be accepted by the Embassy under any circumstances.

  9. Proof of Sustenance

    The Portugal Visa Online applicant should present proof of sufficient means of provisions to support his entire stay in Portugal.

    The proof of sustenance may include an official UK Bank Statement for the last 3 months, traveler’s cheque (in Euros) or Scholarship Certificate mentioning the amount & duration.
